Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto is intensifying recovery from a grade two injury to the biceps femoris in his left thigh. He is the club’s top scorer this season with three goals.
He has been sidelined since 15 February, when he was hurt in the 1-0 win over São Bernardo FC in the final round of the Campeonato Paulista group stage. According to UOL Esporte, he is completing three to four daily rehab blocks, including two at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava plus additional sessions with a private team.
Physiologist Gustavo Jorge, who has worked with Yuri for more than ten years, oversees the programme. He also treats Gustavo Henrique and Breno Bidon, and worked at Parque São Jorge from 2004 to 2007, which helps align external and club routines under a single plan.
Despite the heavy load, the forward is strictly following guidance from Corinthians’ medical and physiotherapy departments without skipping stages. The club is conducting daily evaluations to track progress.
Treatments include conventional physiotherapy and a hyperbaric chamber, which applies pure oxygen at high pressure to speed muscle tissue regeneration. He is accessing modern therapies both at the training ground and at home.
Since arriving in 2022, Yuri has often returned quicker than expected from injuries. Officially, the club does not set return dates, and conditions like this usually require four to eight weeks.
If that timeframe is fulfilled in full, he could be available to Dorival Júnior around mid-March.
Progress is considered positive, though the staff are taking care at every stage to avoid regression.
Without Yuri Alberto, Corinthians face Novorizontino on Saturday at 20:30 at Estádio Doutor Jorge Ismael de Biasi in the Campeonato Paulista semi-final.
