18-year-old PRODIGY is coming to help Arne Slot

Liverpool are struggling this season and it's important that in-form players are utilised properly.

Arne Slot sanctioned a lot of squad turnover in the summer, allowing some of his less-favoured stars to go, with new signings brought in to replace them. In a sense, the team's playing style was going to change, following the addition of Florian Wirtz, but generally it was about bringing in more quality.

However, most of the new players have struggled to gel with the reigning Premier League winners, creating a bit of a disconnect between the two, with transitions from defence to attack proving tough.

Many have called for names like Hugo Ekitike, Curtis Jones and Federico Chiesa to be played more often because they've showed they can perform to the levels expected from them. Until the others find a way to catch up, it's important Liverpool see out this difficult period as best they can.

There is one fresh face, however, who could also make a difference in Slot's team right now.

Morrison is on fire for the U19s

According to Lewis Bower, who oversaw the under-19s clash against Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Youth League on Wednesday evening, 18-year-old Kieran Morrison was involved in all five of the goals the Reds scored in a 5-4 win on the road. It was a chaotic and steely performance from him.

Officially, the England prodigy registered two assists, but his efforts both on and off the ball with have made all the difference in creating chances and forcing errors from the opposition defenders.

While he is traditionally considered a right-winger, he played in a forward pairing with American striker Keyrol Figueroa, and the freedom he had across the front-line played havoc with Frankfurt.

Morrison now has one goal and three assists to his name for the Reds this season, in eight games played, and now that his confidence is high, it might be time to give him a chance in the senior team.

After all, Mohamed Salah is in a bit of a slump right now and we've seen with Rio Ngumoha that bringing fresh energy into the team can make a difference. Young players have to be managed carefully, but they can shine under the spotlight if you give them an opportunity.

The win for the U19s was their second in the Youth League so far this season, and through three games, they remain unbeaten, sitting in seventh place. It's been a really impressive showing so far.

Whether Morrison is called up is yet to be seen, but he's certainly laid down a marker and given the disappointing efforts of the senior players in his position, Slot will have plenty to consider.
