Second Bundesliga win in Linz

LASK 0-3 FC Red Bull Salzburg Women (H/T:0-1). Goals: Grabovac (23'), G. Spinn (53'), Kobler (81')

Sara Grabovac & Co. are clearly feeling at home in Linz! Our team secured another confident clean sheet victory in their second ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga away game in the Upper Austrian capital. Two goals from open play and a header to round off the scoring paved the way for a 3-0 win over LASK at the OÖFV association grounds.

Match summary

Pavlovic's protégés were quicker to get to speed this Saturday afternoon: although goalkeeper Michaela Fischer had to intervene in the early stages, our team then took control. Valentina Illinger underlined our ambitions with an early chance from the left (11'), followed by Sophia Schirmbrand with a free-kick (13') and striker Vina Crnoja (15').

Sara Grabovac then gave her side a deserved lead: after winning the ball herself in the attacking third, she fired it into the Salzburg net from the edge of the box (23'). The flow of the play did not change significantly before the half-time whistle: LASK goalkeeper Gavillet prevented Crnoja from making it 2-0, while Nemcova and Svibkova missed chances at the other end.

Shortly after the restart, Greta Spinn show that as solid as our performance was, things were falling our way at times. She too won the ball on her own and combined with Crnoja to break into the danger zone. There, the Tyrolean held her own against Nemcova and scored in the far corner (53').

After that, there were chances at both ends. While goalkeeper Fischer had to spring into action twice, Emelie Kobler missed the chance to seal the deal with a curling shot. She then succeeded with a clever move: the striker received a long free-kick from Schirmbrand and headed the ball past the rushing goalkeeper and over the line (81'). That was that, and we can celebrate a comfortable 3-0 win at LASK!

That was a strong performance! We saw that we can play courageously as a team and implement our plan. Of course, we're delighted with the win, but more importantly, we've taken another step forward and our attitude on and off the pitch was superb. We brought intensity, energy and passion back to the pitch. Now we need to keep going, stay focused and, of course, get even better!
