Coventry City could face a tough challenge this summer with growing speculation surrounding the future of Haji Wright.

The American international arrived in the West Midlands for around €9m in 2023, and has caught the attention of several Premier League clubs in the past - despite his injury woes.

Wright has found the back of the net 12 times in 29 league games this season. With a goals-per-game ratio of 0.51, he's in the top 1% of Championship players for this stat.

However, FLW's Sky Blues Fan Pundit, Chris Deez, has suggested the club should cash in if they can recoup any of their investment after telling us, "It was quite frankly disgusting the way that he played in the playoffs."

Chris then said," We spent about £9m on him, if we cashed in on him before this season - so in the last window - we'd have probably made a profit on him, I don't know if we will now."

Here are three attackers Coventry should target if Wright departs this summer....

Ragnar Ache - Kaiserslautern

Ragnar Ache has been in fine form in Germany's second-tier, the 2. Bundesliga, this season. He managed 18 goals in 32 appearances for Kaiserslautern - who finished 7th.

At 26 years old, Ache is entering his prime - and has demonstrated good consistency when scoring, 11 at home and seven away. What makes Ache appealing is his experience across multiple European Leagues, including the Eredivisie and Bundesliga.

Being 6ft 2, Ache would offer the physicality needed to replace Wright's impact and while offering similar in terms of aerial threat.

The main challenge would be convincing the German club to part with their top scorer, but Coventry's potential Wright fee would put them in a strong position - after all, Kaiserslautern's record departure was Miroslav Klose in 2004/05 - who joined Weder Bremen for a sum of €5m.

Richard Kone (Wycombe Wanderers)

It's difficult not to see both the League One Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season, Richard Kone, as a shrewd replacement for Haji Wright.

Kone's rise from non-league to taking the EFL by literal storm, shows how quickly he can develop. The 21-year-old scored 88 in 109 for non-league side Athletic Newham before signing for the Chairboys after a trial.

Similarly to Ache, Kone scored 18 league goals this past season - and while a slightly different profile to Wright, he has so much raw talent and a higher ceiling of potential.

Already rejecting bids of around £6m from now-relegated Luton Town, Coventry should use Championship status to their benefit - and bring Kone to the CBS.

Elie Junior Kroupi - AFC Bournemouth (on loan at FC Lorient)

At just 18, Elie Junior Kroupi is a highly rated young talent - who has done more than continue to breakthrough whilst back on loan at FC Lorient from AFC Bournemouth - he was Ligue 2's top scorer with 22 in 32.

Comfortable on the left as well as up top, Bournemouth snapped him up on February 3rd of this year from Les Merlus and sent him straight back on loan. It's difficult to know Bournemouth's intentions with Kroupi - but another loan - this time to the Championship, will be a good way for getting him used to English football.

With Lampard experienced in managing young prospects - notably Fikayo Tomori, Mason Mount and Harry Wilson - at Derby County, his presence at Coventry offers great appeal if Kroupi is sent out on another loan.

While losing Wright would undoubtedly be a big blow to Coventry - regardless of how he played in his final few games this past season - reinvesting any transfer fee received could actually strengthen the squad overall.
