4 Barcelona stars report for training on day off | OneFootball

A quartet of first-team stars at La Liga giants Barcelona reported to the club’s training base on Wednesday, despite having been afforded the day off.

That’s according to journalist Carlos Monfort of Diario Sport, who has provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

Barcelona are of course currently preparing to ramp up preparations for the club’s post-internationa break return to action.

Fresh off dropping their first points of the new season last time out, the Blaugrana will play host to Valencia, with sights on a return to winning ways.

On Wednesday, Hansi Flick afforded his squad a day of rest, much-needed by those fresh off playing their part for their respective nations.

As alluded to above, though, this did not stop four players from reporting to the Ciutat Esportiva this morning.

As per a report from Carlos Monfort:

‘Today was a holiday for the players. Despite this, Szczęsny and Christensen showed up to train. The injured Balde and De Jong were also there. Flick has always said that days off are sacred and prioritizes rest, but he greatly appreciates the effort.’
