FC Bayern are apparently continuing their intensive search on the English transfer market, with another Newcastle United attacker now coming into focus
FC Bayern are continuing to work on potential additions to their attacking options, and while Anthony Gordon has been a wanted player for weeks, the Daily Mail is now linking another Newcastle professional with the Munich club: William Osula
According to the report, Bayern are monitoring the Danish U21 international’s situation „closely“ and the 22-year-old could take on the role of backup for Harry Kane, which is currently still held by Nicolas Jackson
The Senegalese, who is on loan from Chelsea FC, is likely to leave the record champions at the end of the season, and sporting director Max Eberl had already confirmed at the end of April that Bayern would not be exercising their option to buy Jackson
The fact that William Osula, of all people, has now emerged as a candidate comes as something of a surprise, with speculation recently focusing on Newcastle star Anthony Gordon and RB Leipzig attacking player Yan Diomande
However, Osula has an exciting profile: the attacker is 1.91 meters tall, but is considered very quick and dynamic despite his height
So far this season, the Dane has made 32 competitive appearances for Newcastle, scoring seven goals in just over 1,000 minutes of action
Osula has recently made four consecutive Premier League appearances in the starting eleven, scoring three goals in the process
However, the striker would not be a cheap transfer. According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United are demanding 40 million pounds, the equivalent of around 46 million euros, for the attacker
The background to this is apparently the Financial Fair Play rules in England, as Newcastle urgently need to generate revenue after missing out on international business
Osula is still under contract with the Magpies until 2029, but a contract extension is said to be out of the question at the moment

Newcastle had already blocked a move for the Dane last summer. According to the report, Osula had even agreed a loan deal with Eintracht Frankfurt with an option to buy before Newcastle stopped the deal. Bayer Leverkusen, Everton, Crystal Palace and VfB Stuttgart are also said to have been monitoring the attacker
Should Bayern really want to sign a classic center forward as Kane’s backup in the summer, there are apparently other options
Dusan Vlahovic, among others, has recently been heavily linked with the Munich club and, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serbian is keen to move to FC Bayern
One thing is clear: Bayern are still looking for more quality and flexibility in attack – and are currently keeping a particularly close eye on the market in England.
