FC Barcelona are home to some of the most exciting young talents in world football, including Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi. The club continues to nurture promising youngsters from its academy while also keeping a close eye on rising stars around the globe.
One of the players attracting recent attention is Club Brugge’s 18-year-old Ghanaian-Belgian winger Jessi Bisiwu, who has drawn comparisons to Lamine Yamal.
Now, as SPORT has reported, his links with Barcelona are becoming even more concrete, as his agent, Mobindi Marthy, recently admitted that the Catalan club is actively monitoring his situation.
“It’s true that FC Barcelona are following Jesse very closely and are one of the clubs actively monitoring his situation.”
When asked about formal negotiations, the agent added, “Given the player’s talent, it’s completely normal for there to be official communications with several clubs, including major clubs like Barcelona. We are handling everything calmly, step by step.”
Jessi Bisiwu is under contract with Club Brugge until 2027 and currently plays with the reserve side, Club NXT. Despite this, Barcelona are keen to act decisively to secure emerging talents like him and stay ahead of the competition from other European clubs.
His explosiveness, ability to cut inside from the left, and skill in beating defenders make him a strong fit for the modern winger role demanded in Hansi Flick’s system.
As the Blaugranes work to position themselves at the forefront of Europe’s talent race, the outcome of their pursuit of Bisiwu remains to be seen. For now, it is clear that their interest in the young winger is both serious and strategic.
