Bombshell reports earlier in the day have suggested that Julian Alvarez could be the mystery player Florentino Perez was referring to when he promised a €150 million bid to sign a top Galactico for Real Madrid.
While the majority of the media have pointed towards Vitinha, Joao Neves or Michael Olise as the most likely candidates, reports are now emerging that Alvarez fits every description Perez gave.
He is not from the Premier League, young, a total Galactico, and carrying a price tag in that region. He is also, of course, Barcelona’s top transfer target this summer.

However, in a recent interaction with 365Scores, Alvarez’s agent, Fernando Hidalgo, has poured cold water on the speculation, denying any contact with Real Madrid or knowledge of interest from Los Blancos.
“We have no information on the matter and no one has contacted us about it,” Hidalgo stated (h/t Mundo Deportivo) simply when asked about the existence of formal negotiations with Real Madrid.
It is a firm and unambiguous response that appears to rule out any imminent approach from the newly re-elected Florentino Perez’s side, at least for now.

For Barcelona, the agent’s comments will come as a degree of reassurance. Alvarez has already communicated through his camp that his priority is the Camp Nou, and the absence of any Real Madrid contact keeps that dynamic intact for the time being.
Atletico Madrid’s resistance remains the primary obstacle, but Barcelona will be relieved that a new and powerful rival has not entered the race – at least not yet.
However, given how serious Barcelona are about signing Alvarez, there is every chance the mystery player could indeed be Alvarez. Perez has promised the €150 million bid on Tuesday, so tomorrow will be an important day for both clubs.
