Ajax showing interest in teenage Barcelona defender | OneFootball

Nil Sola is reporting that Ajax are one of two sides interested in signing Jofre Torrents on loan from Barcelona. Torrents is still considered a future prospect by Barcelona but they feel like he would benefit from getting more first team football than is available to him this season at the La Liga side. As a result, Ajax are said to be interested in signing the young Barcelona talent on loan, with Racing one of the other sides keen.

Torrents made his senior debut for Barcelona last season, playing four games. He played three times for Barcelona in their La Liga winning season, with one game in the Copa del Rey as well. He also played 15 games for Barcelona’s second team, Barca Atletic, scoring one goal.

He would be just another defender signed by Ajax this summer, with Caio Henrique being the big summer signing so far from Monaco at the back. At the other end of the pitch, the side have also spent big on Marcos Leonardo, who comes in from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal.
