Rennes beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 at Roazhon Park on Friday, a statement win that lifts the hosts up to fifth in Ligue 1.
In the 34th minute, Mousa Al-Taamari curled a left-footer into the bottom corner from 18 yards to reward Rennes' bright start.
After the restart, Estéban Lepaul powered in a header from a left-wing corner (69.). Ousmane Dembélé glanced Achraf Hakimi's cross into the far corner to respond (71.).
Rennes' bench then settled it. Djaoui Cissé drove through midfield, Ludovic Blas cut the ball back, and Breel Embolo chested home from close range (81.).
Brice Samba was excellent as Paris Saint-Germain pushed, twice denying Gonçalo Ramos from close range and blocking Bradley Barcola late on.
Al-Taamari departed in the first minute of second half stoppage time to a standing ovation from the home support.
Paris Saint-Germain finished with 22 attempts and 67.5% possession. Rennes registered 13 attempts with four on target and 32.5% of the ball.
