It will be the first time he encounters the European champions in his career. A few PSG supporters may remember him from the 2016 Youth League quarter-final against Roma, which PSG won 3-1.

He has already refereed Chelsea twice, last season in a Europa Conference League quarter-final against Legia Warsaw that finished 1-2, then this season in their 1-2 defeat at Atalanta in Bergamo.

This season he has also handled several Champions League fixtures, including the play-off second leg between Inter and Bodø/Glimt that ended 1-2, and PSV Eindhoven’s 4-1 win at Liverpool.
