According to Nosso Palestra, Palmeiras are close to agreeing a deal for Botafogo centre-back Alexander Barboza.
Botafogo drew 2-2 in the Campeonato Brasileiro on Saturday, and Barboza faced criticism from sections of the club’s support.

He responded on social media, saying he remains committed to Botafogo.
The 31-year-old has been on Palmeiras’ radar since the start of the season as they seek a defender. The move is viewed as a market opportunity, with a fee of about R$ 20 million.
The clubs are aligned on a transfer for the next window. Barboza had a contract with Botafogo until the end of 2026, and the Rio side agreed to release him to avoid losing him for free.
