With clubs looking to establish themselves following promotion, promotion favourites aiming to match their ambitions, and sides carrying the goal of improving after a lacklustre campaign last time around, the pressure is building ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Football League World have asked ChatGPT to give all 24 managers a score out of 10, aiming to gauge just what expectations could be as the opening day of the campaign approaches.

Birmingham City - Chris Davies: 8/10

Birmingham's Chris Davies was tasked with bringing the Blues back to the second tier at the first time of asking last season. And it is safe to say that he passed the test with flying colours.

Picking up 111 points, Birmingham stormed to the League One title and are now looking to place themselves potentially in the fight for promotion.

Key figures Kyogo Furuhashi, Demarai Gray, Tommy Doyle and more have all been added to Davies' arsenal as the Blues look to carry their fantastic League One momentum with them.

Blackburn Rovers - Valerien Ismael: 7/10

Following the departure of John Eustace in March, Blackburn were steady but unspectacular under French head coach Valerien Ismael towards the back end of last season.

Despite finishing the season in great form, unbeaten in six, Rovers narrowly missed out on the play-offs.

Losing Danny Batth, Andi Weimann, and Tyrhys Dolan has been a blow for the club this summer. However, Ismael's pedigree as a manager should see Rovers fighting in the top half this season.

Bristol City - Gerhard Struber: 7/10

Taking over from Liam Manning, Bristol City supporters are looking forward to potentially exciting times under Gerhard Struber.

Taking over at Barnsley in 2019 with the club seven points adrift at the bottom of the Championship, Struber did a remarkable job to lift the Tykes to safety on the final day of the campaign, while laying the foundations for the job Valerien Ismael would do to take the club to the play-offs.

The German was surprisingly sacked by FC Köln in May, despite the Billy Goats sitting in the promotion places. Despite this, Robins fans have reason to be excited after finishing in the play-offs under Manning last term.

Charlton Athletic - Nathan Jones: 7/10

After turning down the job at boyhood club Cardiff City following their relegation to League One, Nathan Jones is looking to help establish Charlton as a Championship club once again.

The Addicks were last in the second tier five years ago; however, they were sent back down to the third after just a year.

Achieving promotion through the League One play-offs in May, the hope is that Charlton can stabilise in the Championship with a good mixture of youth and experience to count on.

Coventry City - Frank Lampard: 7/10

After taking over at the club mid-season, Frank Lampard did a fantastic job with the Sky Blues, who achieved a play-off finish.

Despite a heartbreaking last-gasp defeat against Sunderland in the semi-final, Coventry were more than worth watching under Lampard, and it would not be a surprise to see the club battling at the top end of the Championship once again.

Derby County - John Eustace: 6/10

Derby performed admirably under John Eustace after he took the job following his Blackburn exit.

In their first season back in the Championship after a period of turmoil, the Rams were able to achieve their main goal of staying in the division. Attentions now turn to the further stabilising of the club in the second tier.

Smart signings Danny Batth and Andi Weimann, and the arrival of USA international striker Patrick Agyemang, will do the Rams absolutely no harm as they look to do exactly that. However, the pressure is on for Eustace ahead of his first full season in charge at Pride Park.

Hull City - Serej Jakirovic: 5/10

Despite securing their Championship future on the final day of last term, Hull City surprisingly decided to part ways with Ruben Selles, who has since made the upward move to Sheffield United.

The Bosnian left his post at Kayserispor in June after guiding the club to safety in the Turkish Süper Lig, joining up with Hull three days later.

His lack of Championship experience is a concern ahead of next term, with Hull looking to avoid a poor start after their dismal return under Tim Walter last campaign.

Ipswich Town - Kieran McKenna: 9/10

Despite suffering relegation from the Premier League with Ipswich last season, Kieran McKenna is still regarded as possibly the Championship's best when it comes to managers.

McKenna guided the Tractor Boys to two successive promotions between the years of 2022 and 2024, and is now looking to take Ipswich straight back up to the top flight at the first time of asking.

Boasting Championship-proven talent in Jaden Philogene, Jack Clarke, Leif Davies and more, Ipswich are one of the firm favourites to take the league by storm this season, and McKenna's experience doing exactly that will do them no harm.

Leicester City - Marti Cifuentes: 6/10

In comparison to Ipswich, Leicester look like the side most likely to continue suffering a relegation hangover as they settle back into the second tier.

Marti Cifuentes has arrived after stabilising QPR since his 2023 arrival. However, question marks remain over his ability to coach a side expected to be fighting at the top end of the division.

When this is mixed with supporters dissatisfied with the overall running of the club, and a looming points deduction, the pressure is on Cifuentes to deliver. And his lack of experience is a concern as the season draws closer.

Middlesbrough - Rob Edwards: 8/10

Rob Edwards did the unthinkable in 2023 and took Luton Town to the heights of the Premier League.

Despite a poor end to his time at Kenilworth Road, Edwards is still held in high regard across the Championship as a result of his recent promotion-winning experience, and he is taking over a strong side left over by Michael Carrick, who unfortunately saw his side's form fizzle out.

Fan excitement is high at the Riverside, and Edwards could be the man to lead the Teesiders back up to the top end of the Championship.
