Ruben Amorim has said he will not change his philosophy at Manchester United despite the club’s torrid form under his management.
United slumped to a 3-0 defeat at Manchester City on Sunday, a result that confirms the club’s worst start to a Premier League season since 1992/93.
No ever-present Premier League team has taken fewer points than the Red Devils since Amorim’s appointment in November of last year.
The Portuguese coach now has the lowest win percentage of any post-war Manchester United manager but remains steadfast in the stance that his tactical plan can work at Old Trafford.
Speaking in the wake of the club’s derby defeat, Amorim insisted he will not compromise on his coaching principles.
“I will do everything I can for Man United. This is my message to the fans. I’m suffering more than them,” he said in his post-match press conference.
“I won’t change my philosophy. If they [INEOS] want it changed, you change the man.”
