Only the goalkeeper’s green light was left before the deal could be officially agreed.

Now, as per Ben Jacobs, Onana has agreed to the move and the deal is expected to be completed in 24 hours.

Deal to be done soon

“Andre Onana is close to joining Trabzonspor after giving his green light to leaving Manchester United.

“Talks ongoing today to try and finalise the agreement. Trabzonspor want Onana to sign within 24 hours,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the same, writing on X that talks are going smoothly between both parties and an agreement is imminent.

“The negotiations for André Onana to Trabzonspor are advancing well and fast, as revealed yesterday.

“There’s an agreement club to club on loan deal with Manchester United… …and confidence to get Onana’s green light.”

Onana out

The ex-Ajax ace had initially expressed his desire to stay and fight, but Ruben Amorim seems to have made it clear that he does not see the Cameroon international as his No.1 anymore.

Senne Lammens was brought in on deadline day, while Altay Bayindir has started all three Premier League games thus far. It was also relayed by this website that INEOS prefers to keep the Turkiye international rather than the 29-year-old.

Onana’s signing has been an unmitigated disaster for the 20-time English league champions, with the shot-stopper committing several high-profile errors since joining.

His poor form has continued this season, with the goalie at fault for United’s loss to Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup second round. Amorim and INEOS have certainly done the right thing.
