Anoeta will stage its final fixtures of the season this weekend, then close for expansion work to begin.
Sanse face Mirandés at 14:00 on Saturday in LaLiga Hypermotion, before Real Sociedad host Valencia at 19:00 on Sunday in the penultimate LaLiga EA Sports round. Real Sociedad will then have one game left, away to Espanyol in Barcelona. Diario Vasco reports that the club have asked to play the first two league fixtures of next season away to allow the works to finish.
Work is scheduled to start as soon as Sunday’s match ends, targeting an increase from 30,500 seats to almost 42,300. The project will proceed regardless of whether Donostia is selected as a 2030 World Cup venue, with a waiting list of more than 5,000 people to become Real Sociedad members.
The aim is to complete the bulk of the job over the summer months, with the pitch to be fully replaced once construction ends.
Because of the remodel, Sanse will not play their matchday 42 home game against Cultural Leonesa at Anoeta, switching to Zubieta while the date and kick-off time are confirmed.
The stadium will close immediately after the Valencia game.
