United explored the signing of Semenyo during the summer transfer window following an outstanding 2024/25 season in which he plundered a career-high 11 goals in 37 Premier League appearances. However, United pulled out of a deal after learning of Bournemouth’s prohibitive asking price.

The Red Devils have nonetheless sustained their pursuit of the Ghanaian, with their interest intensifying due to his electrifying form this season. Boasting eight goals and three assists, he also found the net against United in the recent memorable 4-4 draw.

Ruben Amorim has repeatedly spoken glowingly of Semenyo’s attributes and United are believed to be preparing a swoop when the winter window commences.

However, they’re not the only Premier League club chasing him, with City, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool also keeping close tabs on the situation.

A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Semenyo has no desire to join Spurs.

City and United are thought to be the leading candidates to land Semenyo – a claim that has now been reiterated by Sky Sports, who further note that Semenyo could pick his next destination as early as today.
