He is expected to feature in the second leg of the Europa League second qualifying round against St. Gallen. The decision was taken before the defeat in Switzerland.

That appearance is likely to be his last in Benfica colours. The centre-back is likely to partner Clément Lenglet, in line with the club’s plan despite talks with the Premier League side.
