Argentina Star Remains ‘Untouchable’ At Inter Milan Under Chivu – France International Less So | OneFootball

Lautaro Martinez is still “untouchable” at Inter Milan under Cristian Chivu, but Marcus Thuram isn’t necessarily.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They anticipate that both strikers will start against Torino tomorrow.

Inter Milan go into this Serie A season with a new coach in the form of Cristian Chivu. They also have reshuffled the pack significantly in attack.

Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa have departed. Mehdi Taremi looks all but certain to as well. Arriving to replace them have been younger options Ange-Yoan Bonny and Francesco Pio Esposito.

Inter have high hopes for Bonny and Pio Esposito.

Even if the two young strikers are not going to have the pressure to become regular starters right away, that is Inter’s long-term vision for them.

And there is little doubt that both Bonny and Pio Esposito will get opportunities under Chivu.

In spite of the exciting new attacking arrivals, the Gazzetta dello Sport report that Inter captain Lautaro Martinez is still “untouchable” in the Nerazzurri squad.

The Argentine wears the captain’s armband at Inter. He has been the central figure in attack for six years under two different coaches.

And according to the Gazzetta, that won’t change with Chivu in charge.

Martinez is the player who the new Inter coach plans to build the attack around.

However, in the case of Marcus Thuram, the newspaper anticipate things will be a bit different. They report that his place in the starting eleven is not as “untouchable” as that of Martinez.

Therefore, the likes of Bonny and Pio Esposito could fight for their chance in attack with Thuram.
