Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Olympiacos game

Arsenal defender Piero Hincapie did not train ahead of the Champions League game against Olympiacos.

Hincapie, who joined the Gunners on an initial loan deal from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, has played just once since his arrival because of what boss Mikel Arteta described as a minor groin injury.

And the Ecuadorian was not involved in Arsenal training ahead of the clash.

“He picked a little groin injury,” Arteta said last week on Hincapie’s injury. “We’ll have to again assess him in the next few days (to see) how he goes.

“Obviously it’s been a change of load and he didn’t really have a pre-season after the surgery that he had and we’ll have to see in the next week or so how he is.”

Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Noni Madueke also continue to miss out while they recover from longer-term injuries.
