Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has suggested that he is aware his two goals against Inter Milan may not be enough to earn a start at home to Manchester United.

The Gunners welcome Michael Carrick’s resurgent Man United side to the Emirates Stadium this weekend on the back of an impressive win over Inter in the Champions League.

Speaking to Amazon Prime Video afterwards, Jesus appeared to accept that he will be back on the bench for the visit of the Red Devils.

He said: "To think about starting in this moment, everyone wants to start, to get minute, to get chances, but know I understand the whole situation, I'm not a kid anymore, I'm 28.

“I understand football, how it works.”

Jesus is in competition with Gyokeres and the fit-again Kai Havertz to lead the line for Arsenal as they chase silverware on four fronts.

"I was so happy that Viktor came on and scored a goal,” Jesus added. “A striker without a goal is always difficult, I've been fighting with this my whole career.

“And I'm 100 percent sure when Kai gets his chance, he will score."
