Arsenal make offer for Brentford captain Norgaard | OneFootball

Arsenal have tabled a bid for Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard.

Hayters and Mirror Sport broke the news last week that Norgaard was among the options Arsenal were looking at this summer.

And the Gunners have now made a bid of €11m for the Denmark international.

Arsenal are looking at midfield reinforcements, with Thomas Partey yet to agree on a new contract with the club, with his current deal set to run out at the end of June.

Fellow midfielder Jorginho has already left the club this summer, leaving the Gunners light in holding midfield even with the expected signing of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.

Norgaard has two years remaining on his current deal with Brentford, who have already lost boss Thomas Frank to Tottenham.

They could also lose forward Bryan Mbeumo this summer, with Manchester United keen on signing the Cameroon international.

Brentford, who are expected to confirm the appointment of Keith Andrews as their new head coach, are unlikely to consider selling their captain unless a bigger offer is made, however.

Norgaard signed for Brentford in 2019 and was part of the team which won promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs in 2021.

The Bees captain has been integral to the club securing five straight seasons of Premier League football, playing 34 times in the Premier League under former boss Thomas Frank last season.

Norgaard has also been a regular for the Danish national team in recent seasons.
