RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko caught the attention of Paris Saint-Germain last summer as the club looked for a reliable goal scorer to replace Kylian Mbappe. With Randal Kolo Muani likely departing this summer, PSG could finally land a No. 9 who can earn Luis Enrique’s trust.
The Slovenian forward, whose contract with Leipzig runs through 2029 and is valued between €70 million and €75 million, had a standout 2023-24 season, scoring 18 goals and adding two assists in 42 appearances.
Although PSG’s sporting advisor, Luis Campos, explored several striker options, he ultimately decided against signing a new No. 9. Sesko has continued his strong form into the 2024-25 season, scoring 17 goals and providing five assists in 35 matches across all competitions.
Nonetheless, the latest update on this file could prove to be bad news for the capital club.

Football Insider reported on Saturday that Arsenal are leading Tottenham in the race to sign Sesko. The 21-year-old has become Arsenal’s top target for the upcoming transfer window, and the club could move to activate his £58 million release clause once the season ends.
Although Sesko’s contract runs through 2029, the release clause has made an early departure more likely due to the strong interest in him. Tottenham are facing a tough challenge in signing Sesko, even if they agree to meet the release clause.
The striker is reportedly leaning toward a move to Arsenal or Chelsea, thanks to their involvement in European competitions next season, which currently looks uncertain for Spurs.
