The injury comes at a frustrating time for Meron, who appeared to be edging closer to his Arsenal u18 competitive debut. The teenager had featured for the side in pre-season, but it looks like it will now be a while before he plays for the team in the new competitive campaign.

The youngster generally plays on the left, whether that’s as a full-back or a winger, and he’s made his England youth debut with the u15s.

Meron played four times for the England team last summer, making his first appearance in a 5-1 win over Morocco and his first start in a 4-3 win over the USA.

Having only turned 16 in July, there’s still plenty of time for Meron to make his Arsenal u18 breakthrough over the coming seasons. For now, he’ll be focusing on his recovery.
