AS Monaco have warned supporters over misuse of the club’s ticket transfer and resale system following problems at the Galatasaray match, with restrictions in place for Wednesday’s visit of Juventus.
The club said that from 2024-25 fans can assign their seat to a named recipient via their online account. Season-ticket holders can also legally resell seats at primary-market prices, for example a 15 euros seat returns 15 euros.
The aim is to cover absences, avoid sparse stands and improve service for subscribers.
On 9 December, some tickets were lent or sold to Galatasaray supporters, breaching the platform’s terms and raising safety concerns. Demand from visiting fans was high and some subscribers were tempted by high black-market prices.
More than 500 illegal listings were removed before that game and resale outside the club site is illegal.
Several Monaco supporters later had their season tickets suspended. Many away supporters carrying Pesages tickets were refused entry, which helped trace the original buyers and, where justified, apply sanctions. The episode also prompted further dialogue and awareness.
For Wednesday’s last regular-phase Champions League fixture against Juventus, tickets are reserved for Monaco subscribers and supporters who have already attended this season. The public sale is closed and Italian fans should buy through Juventus’ allocation. The stadium is expected to sell out, with remaining seats only on asmonaco.com and no matchday sales at the ticket office.
