AS Roma travel to Genoa for a Serie A clash on Sunday, looking to tighten their grip on a top-four spot and boost their chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
Roma have put together an impressive league campaign so far and currently sit fourth on 51 points from 27 games, with 16 wins, 3 draws and 8 defeats, and a goal difference of +18.
Their recent league run has been mixed, with two wins and two draws in their last four outings, showing they are hard to beat but still lack a bit of consistency to fully secure their Champions League position.
They played out a thrilling 3-3 draw against Juventus last week. Defensively, Roma have been excellent, conceding only 29 goals in 27 matches, the lowest total in the division.
Paulo Dybala is out after undergoing knee surgery and is expected to miss around six weeks, which is a major blow to their attacking threat.
Artem Dovbyk and Evan Ferguson are also still unavailable and are not expected to feature again before the end of the season.
At the back, Brazilian right-back Wesley is suspended and will not be involved, while Matias Soule remains sidelined with a muscle problem and is unlikely to return before mid-March.
Spanish centre-back Mario Hermoso has been out since early February with an injury and is only expected to come back later in March, further limiting Roma’s defensive options.
Possible AS Roma starting XI: Svilar; Mancini, Ndicka, Ghilardi; Celik, Cristante, Kone, Rensch; Pisilli, Pellegrini; Malen.
The match will kick off at 5pm BST on Sunday, 8th March.
