Aston Villa endured a tough opening to the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.
The Villans failed to score in their first four matches and were heading towards a fifth consecutive game without a goal.

However, with just over 20 minutes remaining, Matty Cash unleashed a thunderbolt high into Sunderland's net, helping Aston Villa to join Palace as the only top-flight side to avoid scoring in their opening five matches.
Despite Cash's heroics, Villa may have to wait for their first win of the new campaign after conceding late on at the Stadium of Light.
