According to Sky Sport, Atalanta’s directors have again declined a UEFA-organised institutional lunch with Borussia Dortmund, hours before the Champions League knockout play-off second leg in Bergamo.

The same refusal occurred last week before the first leg in Germany, which the Bundesliga side won 2-0.

Relations have soured over Samuele Inacio’s 2024 move from Atalanta to Dortmund. The 17-year-old academy product has scored nine in 21 for Borussia Dortmund II this season and is the son of former Atalanta striker Inacio Pia.

Last week, chief executive Luca Percassi said Dortmund had shown serious disrespect, prompting Atalanta’s hierarchy to skip the institutional engagement.

Tonight’s match kicks off at 18:45 CET, 17:45 GMT, at the Gewiss Stadium.
