Atlas Cubs crowned Africa’s Best National Team for 2025

The Morocco U20 national team has been officially crowned the Best National Team in Africa for 2025 following announcement by the Confederation of African Football CAF during its annual awards ceremony held in Rabat on Tuesday evening.

This recognition marks historic moment for Moroccan football. The Atlas Cubs finished ahead of heavyweight contenders including the Morocco senior men’s team and Cape Verde, thanks to remarkable year defined by tactical maturity, consistent performances and elite level player development.

Morocco’s rise to the top was propelled by their historic FIFA U20 World Cup victory, a first for any African nation.

In the women’s category, Nigeria Women’s National Team claimed the award for Best Women’s Team in Africa 2025 beating strong competition from the Moroccan women’s side.
