Chelsea stepped up a gear in the second half on Saturday night to blow away Wolves 3-0 and secure an important 3 points going into the international break.

There were a number of players worthy of praise, and Alejandro Garnacho got a lot of positive words from his coach at full time. Enzo Fernandez also had an awesome game in the middle of the park.

Another player who got high marks, and perhaps was overlooked a little in the analysis post game, was Joao Pedro. The attacker got an 8.2 from FotMob for his showing, which saw him score the second for his time with a first time strike after Estevao drove to the byline and cut the ball back.

JP had 0.51 xG and xA combined, and created two chances in the game. His 7 touches in the opposition box were beaten only by Garnacho’s 8.

Liam Delap toiled up front, but it seemed that his efforts did create space for the Brazilian, and we expect to see more of that setup, even if it hard work for Delap. Their promise of their partnership has been tempting us all season, and we’re really keen to see how they get on after a few weeks of playing together.

This international break gives them both a chance to get fit and ready for an intense Christmas period.

Chelsea’s use of an attacking 6 to counteract Wolves’ back 5 worked well in the second half, and Gary O’Neill called it “classic Enzo Maresca” in his punditry for Sky Sports.

The stats from last night’s win are promising, especially when you look at the defence, who gave nothing away. It looks like we’ve finally got a settled pair of central defenders in Wesley Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah – if Maresca can stop tinkering.
