Augsburg reject €20m offer from Crystal Palace for Chrislain Matsima | OneFootball

Augsburg have rejected an offer of €20m for Chrislain Mastima from Crystal Palace, Florian Plettenberg confirms. 

The 24-year-old central defender has already reached a full verbal agreement with the Premier League outfit and is keen to join them. With the sale of Maxence Lacroix to Chelsea, Crystal Palace plan on making Mastima the ideal replacement in the starting eleven. 

However, FCA are holding out for a better offer and expect Palace to comeback with an improved proposal at some point today (Friday 24th July).

Mastima joined Augsburg from Monaco in 2025 for a fee of just €5m. Since then, he’s featured in 48 Bundesliga matches, scoring twice and assisting the same amount. 

At 1.94m tall, the 24-year-old certainly has the capability of adapting to the physical demands of the Premier League. Not only that, but Mastima also possess great composure and the ability to play out. 

Should the deal get over the line, it will be a great signing for Pierre Sage’s side. 

As per TransferMarkt, Mastima’s current market value is €22m.
