Manchester United’s first-team landscape was full of doom and gloom last season, as the Red Devils recorded their lowest ever league finish.

However, Ineos have made a statement of intent by signing Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko ahead of the new season.

United’s financial might definitely played a part in these transfers. However, the players’ desires were equally influential in making their respective moves possible, as the trio snubbed several Champions League clubs to join Ruben Amorim’s project.

Baleba wants to join Man United

According to TEAMtalk, Mbeumo and Cunha “had their heads turned” after United knocked on Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ doors.

It is claimed, United are “confident” that Carlos Baleba “has undergone a similar shift in mindset.”

Early this week, the Red Devils contacted Brighton & Hove Albion to explore the conditions of a deal for the 21-year-old midfielder.

Brighton are reluctant to sell Baleba this summer. Still, there is a belief the Cameroonian prodigy, whose profile “aligns perfectly with the midfield system that” Amorim is likely to implement, wants to join the Mancunians.

Earlier today, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United held talks with Baleba’s representatives, and they have already received the “green light” from the Brighton star.

Accordingly, despite Brighton’s stance, United do not believe it would be impossible to sign the dynamic midfielder. Things might change quickly if Baleba pushes for an exit.

Man United keen on raising funds for further reinforcements

Further, the Premier League giants are thought to be undeterred by Brighton’s £100m valuation of Baleba.

It is fair to assume United would attempt to offload a number of their fringe players before considering testing Brighton’s resolve.

They are currently in negotiations with Chelsea over a deal for Alejandro Garnacho. The Argentina international is valued at £50m.

United are also determined to get rid of Jadon Sancho and Antony. The Brazilian has attracted interest from several clubs, but he is desperate to reunite with Real Betis, who have so far shown little desire to sign him permanently.
