Barcelona are looking to secure the services of Joao Cancelo on a permanent basis following his impressive loan spell during the second half of last season, but agreeing a deal with Al Hilal will not be easy. The Saudi Pro League side had been demanding as much as €15m to let the Portuguese defender leave, and while this price has since dropped, it could still be a struggle for the Catalans to get their man.
Because of this, Barcelona are considering other ways to get Al Hilal to agree to a sale. According to Sport, one of these would be to include Marc Casado, given that the midfielder is said to be attracting interest from Saudi Arabia.
Casado has accepted that his time at the Spotify Camp Nou is coming to an end. He’s far down the pecking order in midfield, and he is keen to explore other options in the hope that he would play more regularly elsewhere – and one of the clubs that could meet his demands in Al Hilal, who have previously shown an interest in his services.

According to the report, Casado is yet to make a decision on where he wants to play his football next season, as he is anticipating further offers coming his way. However, he is said to be open to joining Al Hilal, with one of the reasons being that he wants to make it easier for Barcelona to secure the signing of Cancelo.
It will certainly be interesting to see where Casado ends up, although for the reported price that it could take for Cancelo to be signed, it would make more sense for Barcelona to try offloading the midfielder to the Premier League or elsewhere in Europe, considering they would surely get more money compared to a swap with Al Hilal.
