La Liga giants Barcelona have on Tuesday been afforded some altogether welcome news on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation of a return to group training at the Ciutat Esportiva.

The player to have linked back up with the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad? Alejandro Balde.

Defender Balde has for his part been forced to sit out each of Barcelona’s last three fixtures across all competitions.

As much comes owing to a muscular injury suffered in training at the beginning of the month.

In his absence, Gerard Martín has continued to impress, slotting in at left-back in Barca’s XI with mimimal fuss.

As alluded to above, though, Martín appears primed for an incoming return to backup duties.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘Balde is evolving very well from the injury and, in fact, this Tuesday morning he rejoined the group to test himself with the rest of his teammates.’

It remains unlikely that the 21-year-old will be called up for Barcelona’s next outing, a La Liga meeting with newly-promoted Real Oviedo on Thursday evening.
