Barcelona hold meeting over deal for Real Sociedad star | OneFootball

Members of the transfer team at Barcelona this week held a round of talks with their counterparts at La Liga rivals Real Sociedad.

This came with a view to gathering information on the situation of La Real starlet Jon Martín.

Defender Martín is for his part in the midst of something of a breakout campaign at Anoeta.

Still just 19 years of age, the Spaniard has established himself as an important member of Sociedad’s backline, to the tune of 20 La Liga starts.

And his exploits along the way have evidently not gone at all unappreciated on the part of those behind the scenes at the aforementioned Barcelona.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘Deco met yesterday with Iñaki Ibáñez, agent of Jon Martín, Real Sociedad’s central defender, in an informal meeting to inquire about the player’s situation.’

Whilst Barca’s chief defensive target for the summer remains Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni, Martín has been earmarked as a cheap and attractive backup plan at the Spotify Camp Nou.
