Barcelona keeping a close eye on situation of Tottenham star | OneFootball

The board at La Liga giants Barcelona are keeping a watchful eye on the situation of Cristian ‘Cuti’ Romero this summer.

This comes amid the understanding that the Argentine has set his sights firmly on a move to Spain, with one of La Liga’s leading clubs.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, citing the likes of transfer market insider Fabrizio Romano:

‘Tottenham are planning to sell the defender this summer.’

This call on the part of the Spurs brass comes in response to Romero himself making it clear that his time in north London has run its course.

Not only that, but the 28-year-old has a clear preferred landing spot in mind: La Liga.

On the lookout for reinforcements at the heart of defence with a view to the 2026/27 campaign, both Atlético Madrid and the aforementioned Barcelona are therefore understood to be giving consideration to moves for Romero over the weeks ahead.
