Barcelona are keeping a close eye on Mexican prodigy Gilberto Mora, according to Sport.
They have been following the 16-year-old’s development closely and are aware of the growing competition to sign him.
Mora is a ‘phenomenal talent‘ who currently plays for Club Tijuana and has emerged as one of Mexico’s brightest young prospects.
The Barcelona target has been tearing it up at the ongoing Under-20 World Cup, bagging three goals and two assists in five appearances.
His performances at the youth level for his club have also caught the attention of Europe’s elite, with scouts from Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United tracking his progress.
Mora has already shown flashes of maturity beyond his years, which has drawn interest from Barca. He has pace, vision and the ability to get past defenders.
Barcelona’s renewed interest comes as they continue to invest in future talent.
With La Masia once again at the heart of the club’s sporting project, the Blaugrana are determined not to miss out on the next generation of global stars.
However, due to FIFA regulations surrounding the international transfer of minors, any potential move for Mora would likely have to wait until he turns 18.
Barca are studying the best possible approach. Whether that means maintaining contact with Mora’s representatives or laying the groundwork for a future transfer is unclear.
His agent, Rafaela Pimenta, has already hinted that the player’s value is rising rapidly, recently dismissing suggestions that he could be available for as little as €15 million.
For Barcelona, Mora represents the signing that aligns perfectly with their long-term vision. He is technically gifted, intelligent in possession and fearless in the final third.
