La Liga champions Barcelona have positioned themselves in the race for the signature of Nottingham Forest star Murillo.

This comes amid an ongoing search for reinforcements at the back on the part of the Camp Nou brass.

Ahead of the predicted departure of Andreas Christensen, and with Ronald Araújo continuing to struggle to find his best form, Deco and co. are long understood to have kicked into gear a central defender search.

A shortlist of potential targets, in turn, has been drawn up.

And front and centre on as much, according to English outlet Caught Offside, is the name of the aforementioned Murillo.

Considered one of the standout stoppers in the Premier League, Brazilian Murillo is understood to be in the sights of all of Chelsea, Arsenal and Barca with a view to next summer.

Not only that, but in the case of the latter, he is labelled as ‘a crucial long-term investment as they look to rebuild their aging and injury-prone defense’.

Nottingham Forest are understood to have slapped a hefty price-tag of €80-90 million on the head of their defensive stalwart.
