Given their current financial situation, FC Barcelona would welcome revenue into the club coffers through any means.
One of the avenues that could earn the Catalans some much-needed profit is the sell-on clauses they inserted for the players that they have sold in recent seasons.
As reported last week, the Blaugrana could be in a position to rake in some cash as former defender Mika Marmol attracts interest from Italy.
Now another ex-academy talent, Oscar Mingueza, who plays for Celta Vigo, could help Barça financially.
Indeed, according to Fabrizio Romano, Premier League club Aston Villa have opened talks to sign Oscar Mingueza from Celta Vigo in the ongoing January transfer window.
Nothing is advanced at this stage and the Villans are only exploring the possibility of a transfer at this point, but the former Barcelona defender is seen as one of the main targets to reinforce the squad this month.

This development will be closely watched by the Blaugrana, who themselves had shown an interest in re-signing Mingueza not long ago.
Barcelona hold a 50% future sell-on clause in their agreement with Celta for Mingueza, who has a release clause worth €20 million.
Should Aston Villa agree to activate that clause this month, it would mean a sizeable €10 million cash inflow for Barcelona.
Mingueza, who has emerged as one of La Liga’s best right-backs this season, is also wanted by RB Leipzig while his agents have offered the player to AC Milan and AS Roma as well.
So, an exit from Celta Vigo this January looks like a solid possibility and Barça will be monitoring the situation closely as they stand to benefit financially.
