Barcelona have done well to part ways with several unwanted players already, but there is still work to be done to get the rest off the books. One player that is still waiting to be sold is Marc Casado, who does not have much of a future at the Spotify Camp Nou after dropping down the midfield pecking order in the last 12 months.
Casado, who is attracting interest from a whole host of clubs including those in Saudi Arabia, has now reacted to the speculation surrounding his Barcelona future. As per MD, he admitted that he’s been told nothing from anyone at the club regarding a possible summer sale.
“I don’t know where the information comes from that the club wants to sell me. They haven’t told me anything and my agent hasn’t told me that this is the case either. It’s been a different season. I have had to adapt to other situations. Nobody likes to participate less, but I always say that, whatever I play, I will give my best for the club and for the dressing room. I always give 100% in training and in matches. Whenever the club and the coach want, I’ll be here with the desire to give it my all. That is not going to change.”
Casado reiterated that his desire is to remain as a Barcelona player, as he admitted that he would have already decided to leave if he were at any other club.
“It’s clear that if it were another club I wouldn’t think about it, I’d be looking for other situations. It would be a different situation. I try not to look at anything. They write to me, but we already know how this goes. It’s best not to look at anything. A lot of nonsense comes out. I’m focused on what I have to do, rest and let them say what they want. On Monday I am summoned (for pre-season) and I will speak with whoever I have to speak, with the coach, the club and the agents, and we will decide what is best for everyone.”
