A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has today been ruled out of the club’s next domestic outing.
The player in question? Ferran Torres.
Barcelona, of course, marked their return to action a short time ago.
Hopeful of keeping alive the club’s flawless opening to the campaign, Hansi Flick’s troops made the short trip across Catalunya, for a meeting with neighbours Girona.
And, when all was said and done, make it five wins from five to open the season is precisely what Barca managed.
Owing to goals on the part of all of Lamine Yamal (2), Dani Olmo and Pedri, the Blaugrana ultimately emerged on the right side of a dominant 4-1 result.
As alluded to above, though, on an otherwise fine evening’s work for the visitors, one source of concern was forthcoming on the personnel front.
This came late in proceedings at the Estadi Montilivi, upon Ferran Torres being shown a straight red card.
Introduced off the bench for Barcelona, a late challenge on the part of the Spanish international was adjudged to have been worthy of an immediate dismissal.
Ferran will, as a result, be suspended for the Blaugrana’s next La Liga fixture, against Villarreal a week from today.
