Barry Douglas, part of Wolves' Championship title-winning squad during his sole year at Molineux, has announced his retirement.
In a post on social media, the Scottish full back said it was time to say goodbye to playing, reflecting on titles in different countries and thanking clubs and staff. He added that representing his country made him immensely proud.
Born in Glasgow, he came through Queen's Park before three years at Dundee United. A move to Poland with Lech Poznan followed, where he won the top flight and a domestic double, before a switch to Türkiye.
Wolves signed him from Konyaspor in Türkiye, and he scored five goals in 42 games across all competitions as Nuno led the club to the Championship title. After promotion he joined Leeds United in a £3m deal.
Two years later he played a role in Leeds winning the title and returning to the top flight. After three years at Leeds he had a short loan with Blackburn Rovers, then returned to Lech Poznan to win the Polish title again, and finished with St Johnstone last season.
