Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has effectively laughed off transfer rumors surrounding Michael Olise and Luis Diaz. Speaking at the Munich Press Club, Dreesen dismissed recent reports linking Olise with Real Madrid and Díaz with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal. The Bayern executive insisted that the Bundesliga champions have received no approaches for either player.

Dreesen rules out Olise and Diaz departures

“It’s astonishing what kind of rumors can be spread when you know the truth yourself,” Dreesen said of the €170m-valued Olise. “I haven’t heard a single person [whom I know personally] say: ‘For €200 million, you have to sell him.’ He still has three years left on his contract.”

The Bayern CEO was equally dismissive when asked about reports that Díaz could depart for Al-Hilal.

“We’d be stupid, wouldn’t we?” Dreesen said. “We have such a wonderful team, honestly. Let’s just start the season and score a few goals.”
