BBC: Man United defender ruled out for between ‘four and eight weeks’ after sustaining untimely knee injury

Marc Skinner has confirmed that Anna Sandberg has suffered a knee injury that could keep her out of action for the next two months.
BBC Sport’s Simon Stone relayed the news on Wednesday, stating that she could be unavailable for between ‘four and eight weeks’.
Skinner said: “We’re hopeful we can get it to six [weeks]. But there won’t be any risk with her, we won’t take any risk. She’s a young player, so we’ll make sure she’s rehabbed effectively.”

Sandberg was withdrawn in the 48th minute of last week’s emphatic Champions League victory over Atletico Madrid in the Spanish capital, with the Reds claiming a 3-0 first-leg victory in their last-16 encounter.
Gabby George came off the bench to replace the Swede before starting the subsequent Women’s Super League clash at home to London City Lionesses, during which she was hooked at the interval in place of Hanna Lundkvist.
The 2-1 victory marked a seventh successive win for United in all competitions, thanks to goals from Jess Park and Millie Turner. The visitors did open the scoring early doors via Nikita Parris in the fifth minute, but the former Red’s efforts were no match for Skinner’s side.
Tonight, United host Atleti at Leigh Sports Village for the second leg of their European tie, after which it’s a double-header of meetings with struggling Chelsea.
The two rivals will initially lock horns in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Sunday in London (1.30pm kick-off). Then, following the conclusion of the international break, it’s the League Cup final on March 15, with the match being held at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol.
