Benfica 27th in global squad value ranking, top Portuguese side | OneFootball

Benfica sit 27th in a new global ranking of clubs by total contracted squad market value, the highest-placed Portuguese team at an estimated 549 million euros.

According to Glorioso 1904, the CIES Football Observatory analysed all players under contract, including those out on loan, and placed Chelsea top with a combined 1,732 million euros.

Benfica are ahead of Porto (30th) and Sporting (31st), and also above PSV, Roma, Atalanta and Napoli among the 35 clubs evaluated.

Vangelis Pavlidis is assessed as the squad's most valuable player at 59.9 million euros, with an average of 14.4 million per player. The Greece striker is currently short of form.

A separate CIES study lists Pavlidis and Nicolás Otamendi in the top 10 for official minutes played over the past 12 months.

Benfica visit Arouca on Saturday 14 March at 20:30 in the Liga Portugal Betclic's 26th round, facing Vasco Seabra's side at Estádio Municipal de Arouca.
