They posted clips highlighting incidents involving Leandro Barreiro, then Gianluca Prestianni, arguing the officiating team led by Nobre erred. The message said the same pattern persists.

Benfica’s stance carried a tone of irony and criticism over the decisions in the Azores. José Mourinho also discussed the cases in his press conference.

Specialists were unanimous that Barreiro sought contact with Frederico Venâncio. On the Prestianni incident, there was no consensus, with some saying Nobre was right and others believing a penalty should have been given.

Benfica collected three important points to stay in the Liga Portugal Betclic title race. After 22 rounds they are third on 52 points, level with Sporting in second and four behind Porto, with those rivals still to face Famalicão and Nacional respectively.
