José Mourinho received timely fitness boosts at Seixal as Benfica finalise preparations for Real Madrid, a tie seen as significant for the club’s season. The Champions League play-off for a last-16 place is set for Tuesday 17 February at 20:00 at Estádio da Luz.

According to Glorioso 1904, Fredrik Aursnes and Amar Dedic trained with the group on Monday 16 February. In the 15-minute window open to the media, both took part in ball work without any evident limitation, easing earlier doubts.

Richard Ríos and Alexander Bah were also spotted in the session. A call-up for the Colombian on Tuesday could happen. By contrast, the Dane is only expected to return in mid-March as his fitness levels are not yet where required.

Several players worked separately on recovery after featuring in Benfica B’s 4-2 win over Felgueiras, namely Diogo Prioste, Henrique Araújo, José Neto, João Rego, Daniel Banjaqui, Gonçalo Oliveira and Joshua Wynder.

A press conference is scheduled for 14:00 on Monday, with Mourinho joined by another Benfica player to preview the tie. The match will be refereed by François Letexier.
