Bolton Wanderers should target a surprise move for Jagiellonia Bialystok winger Kamil Jozwiak, formerly of Derby County.
Bolton Wanderers are racing back up the League One table as things begin to click under Steven Schumacher, and the Trotters should be keen on building from a position of strength in attack in the January transfer window.
Despite being boosted by reports suggesting that Brighton and Hove Albion have no intention of recalling loanee Amario Cozier-Duberry from his currently stellar stint at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, Bolton must not get distracted from their priority and focus, which is to ensure the wide positions are again bolstered this winter.
One man that they should be looking to add to their ranks this winter is Jagiellonia Bialystok winger Kamil Jozwiak, who could provide depth and quality on both flanks for Schumacher’s outfit.
Having almost entirely overhauled the squad in the summer by shifting the style and system that Bolton play away from an often overly deliberate and stodgy possession-dominant back three to a more fluid and direct 4-2-3-1, or even 4-4-2, Bolton have been impressive in terms of their performance level throughout the campaign.
However, results have now begun to pick up, too, with a 6-2 defeat of Oldham Athletic in the EFL Trophy backing up two victories over Huddersfield Town, a last-gasp win against Cardiff City and a 4-0 hammering of Port Vale to make it five wins on the bounce across all competitions.
As they seek to truly assert themselves as title challengers in League One, one concern for Schumacher may well be a lack of depth in the attacking wide positions and bringing in Jozwiak would appear an ideal solution.

In the summer, Bolton brought in Barbados international winger Thierry Gale for an undisclosed fee from Rapid Vienna, having spent time out on loan with Polish side Piast Gliwice last season.
Scouring the Polish league again for a gem that could immediately come in and make an impact in the third-tier could be another route to recruitment success for Wanderers, and a move for Jozwiak would make sense.
Gale was brought in alongside fellow wingers Cozier-Duberry, Charlie Warren and Ibrahim Cissoko in the summer but the below par performances of Cissoko, Warren seemingly being deemed not yet ready and Gale missing too many matches already through injury has left them light out-wide, with full-back Jordi Osei-Tutu having to fill in on the left on occasion.
The departures of Carlos Mendes Gomes to Szabolcs Schon to Exeter City and Fehervar respectively on the final day of the transfer window indicated a winger may be sought but nothing came to fruition before the deadline and so that area perhaps remains the most pressing concern this winter.
Kamil Jozwiak, who once joined Derby County for a fee believed to be in the region of £3.4 million, is a player who can play on both flanks adeptly, but would perhaps be more suited to challenging the likes of Gale and Cissoko on the left, which makes the most sense given the undroppable nature of Cozier-Duberry’s quality for the level.
Cozier-Duberry has already scored six goals and provided a further six in League One so far this season, and Schumacher will be keen on getting someone in with a similar level of productivity and resilience in terms of fitness for the other side, even if it is to be a short-term deal.

Jagiellonia Bialystok reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League last season with star players such as Jesus Imaz and Afimico Pululu grabbing the headlines.
This time around, Jaga sit second in the Ekstraklasa and are again going reasonably well in Europe, with no defeats in their opening three matches of the league phase campaign in the UECL.
Jozwiak, though, who arrived on a free transfer in September following his departure from Spanish second-tier side Granada, has failed to hit the ground running back in Poland.
The 27-year-old, 22-cap Poland international showed flickers of quality for Derby during his two-season stint at Pride Park, creating the third most chances for the Rams that season, according to FotMob, behind set-piece takers Nathan Byrne and Graeme Shinnie.
This season for Jagiellonia, however, he is yet to provide a goal nor an assist in eight appearances and, aside from providing a bit of pedigree depth for the Poles, isn’t contributing too much.
Bolton found a rough diamond in Gale and he is showing signs of being polished up to become a star. Jozwiak, still in the prime years of his career and surely capable of realising the potential that he once showed at Lech Poznan 21-year-old, where he scored nine and provided four assists in the 2019/20 campaign, could yet be another.
It may be an ambitious move but Bolton have shown a wide scouting programme, and Jozwiak has previously shown a willingness to move to England.
