Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is reportedly seeking attacking reinforcement in January, especially following Benjamin Sesko’s knock.
On Saturday, the Red Devils somehow managed to keep their unbeaten run alive thanks to Matthijs de Ligt’s last-gasp equaliser against Tottenham Hotspur.
However, their trip to North London was rather costly, with three players picking up knocks during the contest.
After the match, Amorim confirmed that Casemiro and Harry Maguire had to be hooked in the second half due to their physical conditions, while Benjamin Sesko’s late injury left them with a man down in the final stretch of the match.

At this stage, the severity of the Slovenian’s injury remains unclear, with some sources only expecting him to miss one or two weeks of action.
Nevertheless, this may have been a warning alarm for Amorim, who has decided to take action. According to a popular news account on X, the Man Utd boss has asked INEOS to sign a new striker in January.
The Red Devils brought in Sesko last summer as part of a major attacking revamp that also included the signings of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
Nevertheless, the departures of Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho left the manager with limited options up front, albeit their exits ensued based on his personal request.
At the start of the season, Joshua Zirkzee was supposed to act as Sesko’s backup. However, the Dutchman has been starved of playing time, only featuring for 82 minutes in the Premier League.
Amorim recently clarified that he sees the Dutchman as a second striker rather than a genuine No.9. Therefore, the arrival of a new centre-forward in January could well be a legitimate request on the manager’s part.
However, there are no clear candidates for this role at this stage. While United have been repeatedly linked with Dusan Vlahovic, his arrival would be more realistic in the summer, as his contract with Juventus is set to expire in June.
