Brentford B midfielder Ethan Brierley has completed a permanent move to Sky Bet League One side Huddersfield Town.

Brierley spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Exeter City and will return to League One following three seasons with the Bees.

Brentford B head coach Sam Saunders said: "It’s an amazing opportunity for Ethan to go and test himself at Huddersfield. Knowing the manager [Martin Drury] who worked with us last year and him knowing Ethan, I think it’s a good fit.

"Ethan had a really good loan spell last year at Exeter and there was no shortage of clubs that wanted to take him.

"He’s been a model professional ever since he signed from Rochdale and he’s been a joy to work with. The club wish him every success in the future."

Brierley signed for Brentford B from Rochdale in the summer of 2023, having made 25 League Two appearances the previous season.

He made his first team-debut in the 2023/24 Carabao Cup second round win over Newport County and was awarded the B team Players’ Player of the Year and Mary Halder Award at the end of the campaign.

The now 22-year-old continued to impress at B-team level, captaining the side to the 2024/25 Under-21 Professional Development League title and Premier League Cup final against QPR that same season.

Brierley tallied 12 goals across all competitions and nine assists in the campaign, four of which came across the PDL play-off semi-final, final and PL Cup final.

He joined Exeter City on loan ahead of the 2025/26 season, featuring 47 times across all competitions - with 42 of those being starts - scoring one goal and providing three assists.
